Capturing a thought before deciding where it belongs is the main job of Drafts, a text app for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch. It opens to a blank page, then sends the text onward through actions to other apps and services, which suits writers and note-takers.

Ratings

About the Tools.us.org score

A weighted average of the published ratings below, shown out of 10 in the header above.

Based on App Store ratings only, 11K ratings.

How we calculate this

Each source counts by its number of ratings or reviews, capped at 1,000. Score = 2 × sum(rating × weight) ÷ sum(weights), rounded to one decimal. Inputs are published ratings out of 5; a missing source is left out, never counted as zero. A composite of published scores, not our own test.

Included: App Store 4.8 (weight 1,000).

Best suited to: People who value enjoyment of the app and recommendations to others.

How it is counted: fixed keyword rules read each review's text, and no model writes the claims. A review counts once per theme and can mention several. Praise is counted in reviews rated 4 or 5 stars, complaints in reviews rated 1 or 2 stars. The reviews are the 88 that Apple's public review feed returned; the feed returns a window of reviews, not all of them.
